Save Water and Save Your Lawn

The State of California has imposed mandatory restrictions on landscape watering. These restrictions limit the number of days a week permitted, based on the local water districts reductions imposed. Two or three days a week is the mandate.
Those clients that have property in Nevada are not impacted, currently, by any drought restrictions.
The weather in May and early June in Truckee/Tahoe was wetter than normal. Now the temperatures have risen above normal and the landscapes in the area are showing signs of the water restrictions.
What can be done to preserve your landscape investment? With all new landscape installations Estate Landscape is incorporating a water conserving mineral, diatomaceous earth, as an amendment for all plantings. This will help keep moisture in the root zone for a longer period and can stretch the watering days to the required number.
We also recommend that a Cycle & Soak schedule be used. Contact me for more information about this.
If you have an existing lawn, we have a process that will keep it hydrated and alive during these extreme drought conditions. And stay within the water district guidelines.
The locally available mineral, diatomaceous earth,(DE) can be injected into the root zone of your lawn and will reduce your lawn water usage.
This mineral is a solid, non-soluble, product that holds up to 114% of its weight in water. And then releases the water it holds over time. (And is a great organic insecticide as well!)
This mineral will stay in your soil under the lawn forever. Not a synthetic product that is soluble and will degrade over time.
The process is simple. A high pressure water jet is used to inject the DE into the soil profile beneath your lawn. Up to 4 inches, depending on soil structure. As an added benefit, the water jets act as an aerifying process as the DE is injected into the soil. This process breaks up compacted soil and adds the DE at the same time.
Depending on your level of previous lawn care (watering cycles, thatch build up, regular aeration, soil compaction, soil type) improvements can be realized with a single application. For most lawns a double application is recommended for better results.
This process has been used on golf courses for some time with great results. Water aerification is the process golf course superintendents use. Our process adds the injection of the DE into the soil profile.

Before you lose your lawn to the drought, contact us for an application of DE and be confident you are conserving water at the same time.
Prices start at $200.00/1,000 square feet.
Call today before the summer heat dries out your lawn further and makes it unattractive and uncomfortable to use!
